NBA:
The Trail Blazers are 22 – 22 on the season after a three-game win streak. Yesterday, results of All Star game voting were revealed: Deni Avdija came up just short of being voted a starter in the overall tally of fans, players, and media… but the fans picked him as the 5th highest Western Conference player. Due to next month’s U.S.-born vs International format for the All Star game it’s likely Avdija will start for the international squad.
Next up, it’s a break until Thursday when the Heat visit.
NFL:
Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet suffered a "significant" knee injury and will miss the rest of the playoffs, coach Mike Macdonald told reporters on Monday. He suffered the injury during the second quarter of Seattle's divisional round win over the San Francisco 49ers. Charbonnet rushed for 730 yards and 12 touchdowns during the regular season. The Seahawks will host the Los Angeles Rams Sunday in the NFC Championship Game.
In the regular season division matchups Seattle missed what would have been the game-winning field goal in L.A. In November. That was the ‘Hawks last loss.
In December, Seattle scored on a two-point conversion to win in overtime in LA. That result helped give the Seahawks home-field advantage for Sunday’s conference championship game. Kickoff is 3:30.
CFB:
The Oregon football team landed a high school commitment on Monday. Four-star running back Brandon Smith announced his pledge to the Ducks two days after he was released from his National Letter of Intent by Arizona.
MBB:
The Oregon men's basketball team returns to the court tonight. The Ducks are set to host number 10 Michigan State. UO lost both its matchups with the Spartans last season. The Ducks enter the day at 8-and-10, having lost its last four games in a row. Broadcast starts at 5:30 p.m. on KBND
