Trail Blazers To Play T'Wolves

NBA:

State, Multnomah County, and Portland leaders are backing a legislative bill to renovate the Moda Center.

This as rumblings continue over the possibility new Trail Blazers owner Tom Dundon could move the franchise once the purchase deal is finalized.

 

Meanwhile on the court, Portland has won 3 in a row and are on a quick road trip before the All Star break.

The Trail Blazers are in Minneapolis for a meeting with the T-Wolves. Minnesota is in 6th place in the Western Conference.

Tip-off is at 5 today.

 

NFL:

Let’s move to another imminent franchise sale. The other team the late Paul Allen decreed to be sold upon his death: The Seattle Seahawks.

Allen’s sister Jody is expected to begin the selling process soon. The Super Bowl champs’ sale could land a record 9 to 11 billion dollars according to reports.

 

College Baseball:

Oregon and Oregon State will renew one of the nation's oldest college baseball rivalries on Tuesday, April 14 in the inaugural Northwest Elite Baseball Classic at the new Hops Ballpark in Hillsboro.

 

Beavers’ pitchers Zach Edwards, Jack Giordano, Albert Roblez, and Isaac Yeager have all been named to the Stopper of the Year preseason watch list by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).

The honor is given annually to the nation's top relief pitcher.

 

Number 12 OSUs' season opener is Friday against Michigan in Surprise, Arizona.

The Ducks season opens Friday in Eugene with a four-game series against George Mason.

 

Softball:

The Oregon Women dropped to number 14 in the latest ESPN/ USA Softball rankings.

 

LOCAL:

OSAA boys basketball coaches polls this week have Madras ranked 2nd in 4A, and Trinity Lutheran 2nd 2A. There is no 5A poll due to insufficient coach participation for Boys or Girls teams.

The 3A girls’ poll has Sisters ranked 5th.
