NBA:

Deni Avdija scored 5 points and dished 4 assists in his run for the World team during the All Star game yesterday.

He didn’t look to be struggling with the back injury that kept him out of the Blazers last two games and limited his time to playing in six of the last 16 games.

 

It was Dame Time in Los Angeles Saturday.

Damian Lillard defended his title in the three-pointer contest.

Lillard joins Craig Hodges and Larry Bird as the only three-time winners.

Centers Donovan Clingan and Yang Hansen both had highlights in the Rising Stars event.

Rookie Yang’s big play coming at the expense of the 2nd year Clingan.

Portland is off until Friday for the mid-season break.

 

NFL:

The Seattle Seahawks have hired their offensive coordinator.

He is former San Francisco 49ers run game coordinator and tight ends coach Brian Fleury.

Fleury will replace Clint Kubiak who is the new head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.

 

College Basketball:

The Oregon Men snapped their long losing streak Saturday beating Penn State.

The U of O Women yyy number 25 Washington

The Oregon State Women beat Pacific.

The OSU Men yyy Seattle

 

College Baseball:

Number 12 Oregon State is 2 – 1 to start the season after a walk-off winner against Stanford yesterday.

The Beavers finish their Surprise, Arizona tournament against Michigan today.

OSU is looking for revenge on the Wolverines after losing Friday’s opener. First pitch today is at 11 this morning.

The Ducks swept their four-game series against George Mason.

 

Softball:

14th ranked Oregon lost to Stanford yesterday in the finale of the Cardinal-hosted tournament. The Ducks are 5 - 4 on the season.

Oregon State is now 4 – 6 on the season after splitting a set of games in a San Diego tournament.
