Superbowl Champs Up For Sale

SPORTS 2-19

NFL:

The Seattle Seahawks are officially for sale.

There was reporting before the Super Bowl that the team would be sold, but it was denied by Paul Allen's estate.

ESPN reported the team could sell for a record seven or eight billion dollars.

Winning the Super Bowl could add value.

The process of the sale will continue during the off-season.

NFL owners need to ratify the deal.

Paul Allen's estate requires that the team be sold.

College Baseball:

Oregon gets set for its second series of the season starting today. Youngstown State visits PK Park with a 2 pm first pitch.

Number 11 Oregon State is in Texas for another preseason tournament: the Round Rock Classic starting tomorrow.

Softball:

The Ducks and Beavers are both in Cathedral City, California for the Mary Nutter Classic starting today.

CBB:

The U of O Women take on Nebraska at 6 tonight.

The Oregon State Women play Portland at Gill Coliseum starting at 6.

MLB:

The Seattle Mariners have re-signed their number 2 catcher from last year. Mitch Garver will join the team at spring training in Arizona on a minor league contract.

Garver will compete with others during the Cactus league run to decide who will be Cal Raleigh’s back-up.

The M’s first spring training game is tomorrow against San Diego.

San Francisco will face the Mariners Saturday in their first pre-season tune-up.

The Giants are hoping to get major production out of first baseman Rafael Devers with a full season after a trade brought him to the Bay from Boston during the 2025 campaign.
