College Baseball:

Oregon exploded for 18 runs on 15 hits against Youngstown State yesterday. Game 2 of the 4-game series is today at PK Park with a 2 pm first pitch.

 

Number 11 Oregon State is in Texas for another preseason tournament: the Round Rock Classic starts today. The Beavers play host team Baylor at 4 today.

 

Softball:

The Ducks and Beavers are both in Cathedral City, California for the Mary Nutter Classic.

Each squad split a double header yesterday and are back at it today.

 

NBA:

The Trail Blazers are back in action after the All Star Break layoff.

Portland is 27 – 29 with the Western Conference 3rd place Denver Nuggets visiting the Moda Center tonight. Tip off at 7.

 

MLB:

The Seattle Mariners first spring training game is today against San Diego with 12:10 first pitch from Arizona.

San Francisco will face the Mariners tomorrow in their first pre-season tune-up.

 

NFL:

The Seattle Seahawks are still waiting to hear whether President Donald Trump will invite them to the White House following their Super Bowl win.

The Seattle Times reports the White House has not yet extended an invitation despite longstanding tradition.

Presidents have invited championship sports team to visit the White House for decades.

The Seattle Times has sent four inquiries to the White House asking about the situation.

The White House has not responded.

 

San Francisco is among the teams likely to be vying for the services of recently released wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

Miami cut Hill this offseason.

The speedy pass catcher could help a 49ers offense that will see several top players entering free agency and star tight end George Kittle recovering from a torn Achilles.

 

LOCAL:

The OSAA State Swimming tournament starts today: The Bend Girls and Boys, and Summit Girls are looking good for a spot on the podium.
