College Basketball:
Oregon State has announced the hiring of Justin Joyner as the new head coach of the men’s basketball team.
Joyner, who previously served as an assistant coach at the University of Michigan, will take the helm following the departure of Wayne Tinkle, who led the team for 12 seasons before being let go earlier this month.
According to the university press release, Joyner’s leadership and experience were among the key factors in his selection. He previously coached at St Mary’s University.
The announcement was made official today by Oregon State Vice President and Director of Athletics, Scott Barnes.
Barnes remains embattled by Beaver Nation over coaching decisions and the University’s business dealings securing Name Image License agreements.
Coach Joyner will be introduced in a press conference in Corvallis on Monday.
