NBA:
Portland jumped out to an early lead, pulled away and got a nice win in Brooklyn yesterday. Deni Avdija and Toumani Camara tied for the high score with 18 apiece. Scoot Henderson poured in 16 in just 20 minutes in the 114 - 95 victory.
The Trail Blazers go to Indiana tomorrow.
College Baseball:
New rankings this week for Oregon State after sweeping San Diego; they’re 15 in Baseball America, the writers’ and coaches’ have them 16, D1 baseball dot com rates them 17th, and it’s an 18th ranking in Perfect Game.
The Beavers are at the Portland Pilots tonight.
Oregon remains red-hot after a conference sweep of Indiana. The Ducks are up to 13 in Perfect Game, 19 in the Coaches’ poll, 21 by D1 Baseball, 22 in the Writer’s rankings, and Perfect Game has them at 25th.
The Ducks are off until another conference series at home against Northwestern.
College Basketball:
New Oregon State head men’s coach Justin Joyner was introduced in a press conference in Corvallis yesterday.
Coach Joyner thanked University officials for the opportunity.
Coach Joyner isn’t joining the team in Corvallis quite yet, though. He will finish out his assistant coaching duties with the University of Michigan in the NCAA tournament
