Trail Blazers Cut Down Nets

NBA:

The Trail Blazers blew past Brooklyn last night.

Portland’s 134 – 99 final over the Nets gets them to 36 – 37, a half game behind the Clippers for 8th place, with 9 games to go.

Toumani Camara led all scorers with a career high 35 points.

Donovan Clingan scored just 7 points but blocked 7 shots, to go along with 15 rebounds.

Milwaukee visits the Moda Center tomorrow.

 

College Baseball:

Oregon continues their climb in the national rankings. Perfect Game has them 13th, the Coaches poll rates them 17th with the Writers’ slotting them 18th. 19 is the Baseball America number. D1 baseball has them 20th. We will announce them as 20th this week.

The Ducks' designated hitter Dominic Hellman was named co-Big Ten Conference Player of the Week. Hellman dominated in a series win over Northwestern hitting two home runs in two different games.

 

Oregon State is 13 in Baseball America, 14 in both the coaches’ and writers’ polls, 15th by Perfect Game, and number 16 is the D1 Baseball ranking.

The Beavers play their last of eight straight on the road when they visit USC this afternoon. The Trojans are ranked 12th in the D1 baseball poll.

 

SOFTBALL:

Oregon set a school single game run record in the 24 – 12 win over Indiana yesterday.

 

NFL:

The Seahawks will reportedly sign wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba to a contract that will re-set the market at the position.  Last season's Offensive Player of the Year to a deal that includes 120-million dollars guaranteed, the most ever for a receiver, and the most per year, at 42 million dollars annually during the four year deal.

The Seahawks now look to the other side of the ball, as they will need to make a deal with cornerback Devon Witherspoon, who was a Super Bowl MVP candidate.
