College Baseball:
Number 16 Oregon State took down number 12 USC yesterday afternoon to earn a Southern California sweep of the last two weeks, a 7 – 1 overall road trip to get the team to 18 – 5 on the season.
The Beavers slugged 12 runs and the Tuesday afternoon pitching staff held up, allowing 4 runs, handing the Trojans their first home loss this season.
OSU returns to play at Coleman Field Friday.
20th ranked Oregon beat UC San Diego yesterday on a combined one-hitter.
Maddox Moloney homered for the U of O.
The Ducks battle the Tritons again this afternoon.
NBA:
The Trail Blazers are guaranteed no worse than the 10th spot in the Western conference, putting them into the postseason for the play-in tournament.
Portland currently is in 9th place, a half game out of 8th place. The teams finishing in the 7th and 9th places host play-in tournament games.
Milwaukee visits the Moda Center tonight. Tip off at 7.
SOFTBALL:
Oregon is ranked 17th in the USA Softball poll and 18th in the Coaches poll. The Coaches also voted starting pitcher Lyndsey Grein pitcher of the week.
College Basketball:
Oregon Men’s Basketball star guard Jackson Shelstad is transferring. It’s a significant loss for the Ducks who struggled last season when Shelstad was injured.
