Blazers Sale Goes Through

NBA:

The NBA has officially approved the sale of the Portland Trail Blazers to a group led by Tom Dundon, owner of the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes.

The franchise sold for 4.25-billion dollars, with proceeds supporting charities per the Paul Allen Trust.

Major upgrades to the Moda Center are also on the way.

 

The Blazers are on the road this evening with a huge game against the Clippers.

Los Angeles sits in the 8th spot, just a game and a half ahead of Portland.

The two teams are fighting for play-in game position the rest of the way.

Tip off at 8 tonight.

 

College Baseball:

Oregon went 4 – 1 on its recent road trip and climbed in the polls to 10th in the Coaches and Perfect Game, the Writers’ rank them 14th, D1 Baseball slots them 15th and its 17th in Baseball America.

The number 15 Ducks are back at PK Park today to play Portland before getting back to conference play this weekend.

 

The Beavers are 21 and 5 on the season and are back into the Top 10 of the National Rankings. They’re 8th in Baseball America and the Writers’ poll; Perfect Game, the Coaches and D1 Baseball have them ranked 9th.

Number 9 Oregon State Oregon State concludes a four-game homestand when the Beavers host Washington tonight at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.
