Spurs Beat Trail Blazers In Game One

NBA:

The Trail Blazers fell in Game 1 of their first round playoff series in San Antonio. The 111 – 98 final puts Portland in an 0 – 1 hole in the best of 7 series.

They made a run in the third quarter to get close but ultimately didn’t have enough fire power to compete with the Spurs.

Game 2 is tomorrow night.
Also, Blazers’ breakout star Deni Avdija is a finalist for the NBA’s Most Improved Player.

Game 3 of the best of 7 series will be at the Moda Center Friday.

 

COLLEGE BASEBALL:

19th ranked Oregon slugged their way to a victory on the road at Illinois yesterday clinching another conference series.

The Ducks continue to roll in the Big 10 sitting in 4th place.

6th ranked Oregon State won their series against Cal State Fullerton taking the rubber match 10 – 2 yesterday. Those 10 runs on a season-high 16 hits.

The Beavers evened the series Saturday following a dramatic 8th inning comeback that included a go-ahead grand slam.

The Beavs host the Ducks Wednesday at Goss Stadium.

 

SOFTBALL:

Number 13 ranked Oregon swept 23rd ranked Washington for their 14th straight Big 10 series win going back to last season. The Ducks are 3rd in the conference standings.

Oregon State was swept on the road by Saint Mary's.

Next, OSU visits Eugene Wednesday.

 

LOCAL:

The Salmon Run Saturday in Bend drew hundreds of runners for the half marathon, 10K and 5K.
