SPORTS 4-21
NBA:
The Trail Blazers are down 0 – 1 in the best of 7 series against the Spurs.
As Portland regroups fans are wondering about how much new owner Tom Dundon is willing to spend on the team now that the more than 4-billion dollar purchase of the franchise has been approved.
Various reports say the team is looking to pay its next head-coach well below the league minimum.
The figure being mentioned is what assistant coaches typically earn.
Two-way players who won’t play in this play-off series didn’t travel with the team; every other team brings those players who aren’t on playoff rosters.
There are also rumblings the radio and TV broadcasts could be down-sizing.
And fans are upset the Moda Center won’t have promotional playoff T-Shirts for this Friday’s playoff game.
Color-coordinated free play-off shirts are a staple at NBA arenas. The Spurs fans had a great look Sunday.
Dundon was also criticized by fans and media early on over cost-cutting measures when he purchased the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes .
Game 2 is tonight in San Antonio.
Tip off is at 5.
