COLLEGE BASEBALL:

Number 7 Oregon State won their series two games to one against Airforce Academy but Friday night’s loss likely hurt their chances to host a regional tournament at Goss Stadium.

The Beavers won every weekend series to go 43 - 12 on the season.

Their independent schedule means they have no conference tournament.

Meanwhile in Eugene, number 16 Oregon took two of three in their three-game series against 17th ranked USC.

That gives the Ducks the number 3 seed in this week’s big 10 tournament. It means they won’t have to play in the double elimination round starting tomorrow.

UO’s first game will be Friday.

SOFTBALL:

The Ducks are out of the NCAA Tournament after losing twice Saturday at their Eugene regional.

Fire To Host Sun

The Fire will wrap up their season-opening homestand. Portland will take on the Connecticut Sun tonight. The Fire are 1-and-2 to begin their inaugural season.

LOCAL:

It was the 50th anniversary celebration of the PPP Saturday!

The Selco Pole Pedal Paddle saw thousands of racers, support staff, volunteers, and spectators.

Andy Krueger won the men’s elite for the second time in three years. Grace Perkins won her third straight women’s elite title.

The PPP is a benefit for the Mt Bachelor Sports Education Foundation.
