COLLEGE FOOTBALL:
Fall Camp is underway.
In Corvallis, head coach JaMarcus Shephard told reporters at yesterday’s media availability he’s working on a culture change for the Beavers.
"Part of that is just redefining that for our players. I’m consistently doing that within the program. It really starts with ‘how to win, how do you win’."
Shephard says turnovers, field position, and explosive plays are three areas of focus.
In Eugene, Oregon leads the country with five players on the 2026 Lombardi Award watch list: tight end Jamari Johnson, offensive lineman Pancho Laloulu, linebackers Teitum Tuioti and Matayo Uiagalelei, and defensive lineman A’Mauri Washington.
The honor recognizes college football’s top lineman.
Ducks’ Quarterback Dante Moore also earned a spot on the Wuerffel Trophy watch list for community service.
NBA:
Portland’s city council is expected to vote Wednesday morning on an agreement to spend public money on the renovations for the Moda Center to get the Trail Blazers to stay in the arena.
WNBA:
In WNBA action, the Fire will host the Minnesota Lynx tonight in Portland. The Fire have won two in-a-row to improve to 13-and-19 on the season. Meanwhile, the Storm are back in action Friday when they host the Fire. Seattle is 7-and-28.
NFL:
One of the Seattle Seahawks' defensive stars is back on the field.
Safety Nick Emmanwori passed his physical and was activated from the physically unable to perform list ahead of yesterday’s practice.
The 2nd year player underwent offseason ankle surgery.
LOCAL:
The Bend North Little League team will play Washington today in a semifinal game for a chance to make it to the Northwest Regional Final.
The Bend team, representing Oregon plays Soundview again after losing to them in the tournament opener.
First pitch is at Noon.
