COLLEGE FOOTBALL:
Fall Camp is underway.
Another day, another preseason watchlist: The Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame and Jim Thorpe Association have Oregon's Brandon Finney Jr. and Koi Perich on the preseason watch list for the Jim Thorpe Award, given to the most outstanding defensive back.
Oregon is one of five schools to have multiple defensive backs on the watch list,

Tomorrow we’ll hear from Oregon State’s Eddie Freauf. The wide receiver out of Crook County has impressed head coach JaMarcus Shephard with his athleticism and work ethic.
NBA:
Portland’s city council yesterday (Wed) approved putting 120-million dollars toward renovating the Moda Center. The 8 – 4 decision means the city, Multnomah county, and the State have agreed to put tax-payer money into the aging arena to keep the Trail Blazers. The team now has a December 31st deadline to sign a lease to stay. Negotiations on the lease agreement will need to get done in the next 3 and half months.
Meanwhile, the Blazers’ NBA Cup schedule has been released. They’ll play the Lakers, Kings, Spurs, and Warriors in their group play starting November 6th.
WNBA:
In WNBA action, the Fire lost at home to the Minnesota Lynx 85-81. Portland is now 13-and-20 on the season and will visit Seattle tomorrow. Meanwhile, the Storm sit at 7-and-28 after beating Chicago on Monday, which ended their 11-game losing streak.
NFL:
Seattle head coach Mike Macdonald is getting a new found respect from fans around the league after the latest episode of Hard Knocks. The normally mild-mannered coach ripped into a defensive player for getting too close to quarterback Sam Darnold. Macdonald’s Not Safe For Work comments about him running the practice got a lot of play on social media.
The Seahawks first preseason game is Saturday against Dallas.
LOCAL:
The Bend North Little League team was eliminated yesterday (Wed) from Northwest Regionals. The Bend team, representing Oregon lost to Washington to end their run in the tournament.
