NFL Franchise Values Surge 31 Percent Over Past Year

Oregon football is starting with its highest preseason ranking ever. The Ducks came in at number two in the Associated Press Top 25, matching their number two debut in the preseason Coaches Poll.

Oregon’s previous best preseason AP ranking was third, reached four times, including in 2024.

The Ducks have now opened in the AP top ten for three straight seasons, their longest such run since 2011 through 2015, and have appeared in the preseason top 25 for nine consecutive years.

Also yesterday quarterback Dante Moore was named to the preseason watch list for the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award. 
Moore was previously named to the preseason watch list for the Maxwell Award, which also goes to the nation's most outstanding player.

NFL:

Seahawks’ head coach Mike Macdonald spoke to the media after practice yesterday about their game against Dallas Saturday.

Macdonald says the coaching operation needs work and the team needs to finish plays better.

Seattle also signed former Oregon State running back Anthony Hankerson.

 

The value of NFL franchises continues to surge.  Sportico reports the average team is worth 9.34-billion-dollars, an increase of more than 31-percent over last year.  It's the largest one-year increase in at least a decade.  The Dallas Cowboys lead the way at 15.5-billion-dollars.  The Seahawks rank 12th on the list at more than 9.6-billion.

 

WNBA:

In WNBA action, the Fire will visit Toronto on Friday, while the Storm are off until Sunday when they travel to face Dallas. Portland sits ninth in the WNBA standings at 15-and-20 on the season. Seattle is last at 7-and-30.
