COLLEGE FOOTBALL:
The final week of Fall Camp.
In Corvallis, the quarterback battle is over. Braden Atkinson will be the starter when OSU’s season opens at Houston September 5th.
Atkinson is a transfer from Mercer University where he won the Jerry Rice Award for top freshman last season.
Atkinson beat out returning starter Maalik Murphy and another transfer Brady Jones for the job.
In Eugene,
The Ducks offense was outplayed by the defense in Saturday’s scrimmage but the offensive coordinator Drew Mehringher said after yesterday’s practice the squad was able to re-set and refocus, and come out much sharper.

NBA:
The Trail Blazers announced their 2026 Rip City Rally Locations which includes stops in Bend, Prineville and Madras next month.
On the court some bad news as guard Shaedon Sharpe will reportedly miss up to six months after tearing the meniscus in his right knee.
Sharpe is expected to have surgery this week.
WNBA:
In WNBA action, the Fire visit the Dallas Wings tonight, while the Storm host Toronto tomorrow. Portland sits at 15-and-22 on the season, currently six-and-a-half games behind Dallas for the eighth and final playoff spot. Seattle is just 7-and-31.
NFL:
The Seahawks waived former Oregon State running back Anthony Hankerson.
