COLLEGE FOOTBALL:
The final week of Fall Camp.
In Eugene, the Ducks started their morning practice routine yesterday, which they’ll continue the rest of the season.
It was Defensive coordinator Chris Hampton’s turn to talk to the media yesterday.
Hampton was asked about how the defense is competing with the offense.
“You know, I think we had the better of them one day. They've had the better of us some days. I think it's been a lot of good back and forth. I think we've made a lot of strides; we still got a ways to go, before September 5th.”

In Corvallis, Head Coach JaMarcus Shephard addressed the selection of Braden Atkinson as the team’s starting quarterback.
“When I talk about Braden, that does not mean that I have an indictment on anybody else, and how they played. It is just really truly highlighting him as a person and it does not mean that the other players did not showcase the things that were necessary as well to be the starting quarterback, Braden just rose to the top.”
OSU’s season opens at Houston September 5th.
NFL:
The Seahawks put safety Bud Clark and offensive lineman Mason Richman on injured reserve yesterday, after they both suffered injuries in Sunday’s game. Seattle signed three players to replace Clark, Mason, and former OSU running back Anthony Hankerson, including former Oregon safety Tysheem Johnson.
The Big Ten is taking a stand against a potential wave of NFL players who want to return to school to play football. Conference leaders voted today to block anyone who didn't withdraw from the NFL Draft, appeared on a roster or signed a pro contract from playing. The league drafted the rule after a Louisiana judge cleared the way for at least two players who were in NFL training camps to sign with LSU for a fifth season under the NCAA's "five in five" eligibility model.
WNBA:
In WNBA action, the Fire were crushed by the Dallas Wings 96-78. Portland fell to 15-and-23 and was eliminated from playoff contention. The Fire will visit Atlanta on Friday. Meanwhile, the Storm host Toronto tonight. Seattle is just 7-and-31 on the season.
