(Portland, OR)  --  A 29-year-old man is facing charges after he allegedly kicked a Portland police horse.  Authorities say mounted patrol officers were in on Northwest Sixth Avenue in Old Town yesterday morning when the man yelled out a "karate-like battle cry" and landed a double kick on the horse's leg.  The horse wasn't injured.  "The Oregonian" reports Joseph Cruz is charged with interfering with a law enforcement animal.
