WA AG Moves To Intervene In Marijuana Lawsuits

(Olympia, WA)  --  Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson is asking a judge to allow his office to join lawsuits filed against the cities of Fife and Wenatchee.  Ferguson says he wants to defend Initiative 502, which legalizes the recreational use of marijuana for those aged 21 and older in Washington.  Fife and Wenatchee have enacted bans on marijuana sales, and are being sued by businesses that have applied for licenses to sell pot in those cities.  Ferguson says his office has "a clear interest in protecting the will of the voters."
