Court: Man Admitted Smoking Pot Before Hitting Pedestrians

(Vancouver, WA)  --  Prosecutors say a man who crashed into a group of pedestrians and killed a seven-year-old girl admitted to smoking pot two hours beforehand.  Duane Abbott appeared yesterday in a Vancouver courtroom to hear the charges against him.  Abbott is accused of hitting a group of trick-or-treaters on Halloween night, resulting in the death of seven-year-old Cadence Boyer.  "The Oregonian" reports Cadence's mother is listed in good condition and a six-year-old girl has been released from the hospital, but a second woman is listed in critical condition.
