(Beaverton, OR)  --  The ride-share service known as Uber will do business in the Portland suburbs.  The company announced yesterday that it has made deals with the cities of Beaverton, Hillsboro, Gresham, and Tigard.  Uber, who's been prohibited from operating in Portland, does business with customers via a smartphone app.  Customers will be able to get rides into Portland, but won't be allowed to be picked up there.
