Police Sergeant Speaks Out About Touching Protest Photo

(Portland, OR)  --  The white Portland police sergeant caught on camera embracing a black Ferguson protestor is speaking out about the heartfelt hug that's been shared around the world.  Sergeant Bret Barnum tells KGW-TV he couldn't pass up the kid who had a sign around his neck that read "free hugs."  He says 12-year-old Devonte Hart was frightened by the protestors and police, but he reassured the boy that something good would come out of the situation.  The snapshot of the pair's tearful hug has spread faster than any other picture taken in the aftermath of last week's grand jury decision.
