Group Asks Fred Meyer To Ban Open-carry

(Portland, OR)  --  An Oregon group is asking Fred Meyer to ban customers from openly carrying guns in its stores.  The group, called "Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America," delivered a petition yesterday to Fred Meyer headquarters in Portland.  The group says it delivered about 18-thousand signatures collected from people in states where Fred Meyer has locations.  Group representatives told "The Oregonian" that its goals include raising public awareness about what it calls "lax gun laws" and to change gun policies at businesses that families patronize.
