(Portland, OR) -- Six former employees of Portland-based Daimler Trucks North America will receive a settlement of two-point-four-million dollars. The ex-employees filed a civil rights complaint last year against Daimler, alleging violent threats and racism in the workplace. The complaint was filed last September, claiming that Daimler failed to take appropriate action after the threats were made and the complainants were called racist names. KGW-TV reports the settlement also includes an installation of a civil-rights complaint hotline for employees.
