Port Operations To Resume Today

(Portland, OR)  --  Shipping operations are expected to resume today at the Port of Portland.  Ports along the West Coast were temporarily shut down over the weekend, as contract negotiations continue between the Pacific Maritime Association and the International Longshore and Warehouse Union.  The association has accused the union of intentionally slowing down work for the past several months, but the union says the PMA has reduced night shifts and has refused requests to add more workers to get ships loaded and unloaded.
