(Salem, OR)  --  A bill awaiting action in committee would prevent licensed mental-healthcare providers in Oregon from practicing what's known as "conversion therapy" on LGBT youth under 18.  The goal of such treatments is to change a person's sexual orientation from homosexual to heterosexual.  Opponents of the practice say it's confusing for young people and can cause lifelong trauma.
