(Portland, OR)  --  TriMet officials say five new buses are in service in the Portland area.  The new vehicles are replacing five of the oldest buses in the TriMet fleet, as part of the transit agency's accelerated bus-replacement program.  The "Portland Tribune" reports TriMet's budget for next year is calling for the purchase of 77 more new buses, which would give the transit service 326 newer buses on the road.
