(Portland, OR) -- Portland Mayor Charlie Hales is implementing a suspension of all city-funded travel to Indiana. Hales made the announcement yesterday in response to a new Indiana law that's intended to protect businesses who practice their religious beliefs, but is being slammed by critics as an excuse to discriminate against gays and lesbians. The Portland City Council is slated to take up the issue tomorrow. Washington Governor Inslee has issued a ban on state-funded travel to Indiana.
