(Salem, OR) -- Police say a man who was driving while impaired is responsible for a crash that killed a highway worker in Salem. Authorities say 55-year-old William Hatch the third died yesterday morning when he was hit by a car driven by 20-year-old Roberto Lopez-Dejesus. Police say Hatch was hit while working on Mission Street near I-5. Lopez-Dejesus is facing charges that include first-degree manslaughter, reckless driving, reckless endangerment of a highway worker and DUII.
