Teen Sentenced For Shooting Near Police Station

(Portland, OR)  --  A 16-year-old boy is headed to detention after pleading guilty to shooting a gun outside the East Precinct of the Portland Police Bureau.  The shooting happened in March after a party let out at the East Portland Community Center.  Dontae Eugene Mathis, Jr. was arrested, and pleaded guilty yesterday to charges of attempted first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.  He was sentenced to five years in the custody of the Oregon Youth Authority.
