Man Accused Of Trying To Murder Portland Cop

(Portland, OR)  --  A man who's accused of attacking and stabbing a Portland police officer is facing charges.  Fifty-six-year-old David James Ellis has been indicted on charges of attempted aggravated murder, second-degree assault, and unlawful use of a weapon.  Authorities say Ellis, who was a suspected in an attempted burglary, attacked Officer Jose Jiminez with a knife on July 5th.  Jiminez's partner shot and wounded Ellis during the attack.  Ellis is slated to be arraigned tomorrow.
