Man Convicted Of Manslaughter In Deadly Crash

(Hillsboro, OR)  --  A Cornelius man will be sentenced next month, after being found guilty of manslaughter in a crash that killed a Hillsboro woman.  A Washington County jury deliberated for 20 minutes yesterday before coming back with the verdict against Adam Buchalski [[ buh-KAL-skee ]], who was also convicted of reckless driving and fourth-degree assault.  Twenty-two-year-old Maria Lara Martinez was killed in January when Buchalski tried to pass in a no-passing zone on Northwest Susdbauer Road in Hillsboro.  Buchalski will get a mandatory minimum sentence of six years and three months in prison.
