Police ID Body Found In Columbia River

(Portland, OR)  --  Sheriff's deputies say a body recovered Saturday from the Columbia River is that of a Portland man.  Officials say 62-year-old Gregory Loren Whitlock was swimming in the river near a cabin cruiser west of the Suttle Road Moorage when he drowned around 4:35 Saturday afternoon.  Deputies say another swimmer who was with Whitlock was not successful in keeping him from slipping below the surface.  The drowning has been ruled an accident.
