(Salem, OR)  --  About 125 National Guard troops will be deployed later today to help fight wildfires across Oregon.  Governor Kate Brown has mobilized the troops to assist depleted firefighting forces.  The Guard troops completed basic field training yesterday, and will back up first-responders and focus mainly on extinguishing hot spots.  Another 250 National Guard troops are beginning training for deployment this weekend.
