Three Fallen Firefighters Honored

(Wenatchee, WA)  --  A fund that's been set up by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation is assisting the families, friends, and colleagues of three U.S. Forest Service firefighters who died while battling the Okanogan complex of wildfires in Washington.  Twenty-year-old Tom Zbyszewski , 26-year-old Andrew Zajac, and 31-year-old Richard Wheeler died in Twisp on August 19th when their truck crashed down an embankment as they tried to escape the flames.  Thousands gathered yesterday at the Toyota Center in Wenatchee, about 90 miles from where the firefighters died, to honor the men.  At least 80 vehicles took part in a procession leading to the service.
