(Seattle, WA) -- A move is underway in the Seattle City Council to allow drivers for companies like Uber and Lyft to have collective bargaining rights. Councilmember Mike O'Brien is introducing the proposal, saying ride-share drivers have complained they make well below the minimum wage once expenses are tallied. But there are concerns about the legality of the proposal because drivers are contractors and not employees. The proposal is slated to get its first hearing tomorrow.
