(Salem, OR) -- A Marion County judge is refusing to perform same-sex marriages. Circuit Court Judge Vance Day is being investigated by the Oregon Commission on Judicial Fitness and Disability because he won't perform marriages between partners of the same sex. A spokesman for Day told KATU-TV that the judge is a Christian and his religious beliefs don't allow him to perform same-sex marriages. The investigation will be followed by a hearing if charges are filed, after which a recommendation will be made on the case to the Oregon Supreme Court.
