(Seattle, WA) -- GOP Congressman Dave Reichert of Washington is unhappy with the transfer of serial killer Gary Ridgway from a Washington prison to a high-security prison in Colorado. Reichert was a King County sheriff's deputy and the lead investigator on the Green River Killer case, in which Ridgway was eventually convicted on 49 counts of murder. Reichert told KING-5 that Ridgway's transfer from near isolation in Walla Walla to the general population of a Colorado prison is "disrespectful" to the families of the victims and the investigators in the case. Ridgway began serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole in 2004.
