(Portland, OR)  --  Bail is set at more than a quarter-million dollars for a man who's accused of seriously injuring a two-year-old child.  Paul Anthony Mendez is facing charges of first-degree assault and first-degree criminal mistreatment.  Police say Mendez is accused of causing serious physical injury to the son of his girlfriend.  He's scheduled for another court appearance on October 6th.
