Football Helmet Designed To Better Protect Against Head Injuries

(Seattle, WA)  --  A Seattle startup technology company hopes to soon outfit NFL players with a revolutionary helmet that puts more emphasis on safety.  The company, called Vicis, says the new helmet is designed to protect against skull fractures, as well as mitigate the forces involved in causing traumatic brain injuries.  The company, which currently operates out of a lab on the University of Washington campus, plans to begin marketing the helmet in spring 2016.  Vicis officials say the goal is to begin outfitting NFL players first, and later make the helmets available for all age groups.
