Council Approves Portland Building Renovation

(Portland, OR)  --  Portland's primary building for city agencies is in store for renovation.  The Portland City Council has approved a plan to have the Portland Building renovated for no more than 195-million dollars.  The "Portland Tribune" reports the 15-story building, which houses 13-hundred city employees, is not up to current earthquake standards and has experienced a number of construction-related problems over the years.  The structure is on the National Register of Historic Places, even though many consider it to be an eyesore.
