Portland-Vancouver Amtrak Expected To Be Restored Today

(Portland, OR)  --  Amtrak service between Portland and Vancouver is expected to be restored today.  High water over the tracks prompted the service to be suspended earlier this week, and Amtrak Cascades passengers were taken to their destinations by bus.  "The Oregonian" reports Coast Starlight trains will continue to be rerouted over Union Pacific tracks before resuming their regular routes north of the Columbia River.  Empire Builder trains are being rerouted along Union Pacific tracks south of the Columbia River, and then proceed to Spokane.
