Youth Villages Oregon Planned For Closure

(Lake Oswego, OR)  --  A facility for foster children and troubled youth in Lake Oswego is set for closure next year.  Youth Villages Oregon, which is facing the loss of its state license to operate, says it will begin laying off its 74 employees at its Christie Campus in March.  The Oregon Health Authority and the Oregon Department of Human Services have said that there's been a lack of sufficient supervision by staff members for the children treated at the center.  DHS told the "Portland Tribune" that the state stopped placing foster children at Youth Villages programs earlier this month and moved the children who were already there to other facilities.
