Intel To Lay Off 784 In Oregon

(Hillsboro, OR)  --  Intel Corporation says it will lay off 784 employees this week at its campuses in Hillsboro and Aloha.  The layoffs, which will be completed by Friday, are part of a restructuring effort by the technology giant that includes laying off 12-thousand employees companywide.  The 784 employees are four percent of Intel's Oregon workforce.  The "Oregonian" reports the company has told state officials that laid-off employees will be paid through the end of May and receive at least six additional weeks of salary and three months of health insurance.
