Auditor Accuses Inslee Of "Political Grandstanding"

(Olympia, WA)  --  Washington State Auditor Troy Kelley is firing back at Governor Jay Inslee for questioning Kelley's motives for dismissing some of his office's senior staff.  Kelley says Inslee engaged last week in "political grandstanding" and "campaigning with taxpayer resources" by calling the auditor's personnel decisions into question.  Kelley placed one employee on leave and asked for the resignations of two others, after he returned to work late last month following the end of his federal trial on theft and money-laundering charges.  Kelley was acquitted on one charge and the jury was unable to come to a decision on the remaining counts.
