(Portland, OR)  --  Oregon State Treasurer Ted Wheeler will succeed Charlie Hales as Portland mayor.  Wheeler, a Democrat, garnered 57-percent of the vote last night among a field of 16 candidates to win the race without the need for a runoff.  Multnomah County Commissioner Jules Bailey collected 16-percent to finish second and Sara Iannarone placed third with ten-percent of the vote in her first run for elected office.  Wheeler will replace Hales, who served one term as mayor and didn't run for re-election.
