(Portland, OR) -- Bullseye Glass in Portland says it will have to lay off employees as a result of an order from the state to stop using lead and other components in its manufacture of glass. The company says the restrictions will result in a stoppage in production of 80 percent of its products. Governor Kate Brown directed the Department of Environmental Quality last week to issue the cease-and-desist order to be effective for ten days. The order was issued after air-quality testing on May 19th showed lead levels at four times the 24-hour benchmark.
