Seattle Mayor, Council Agree On Plan To Clean Up Homeless Camps

(Seattle, WA)  --  City leaders are in agreement on a plan to clean up homeless encampments in Seattle.  Mayor Ed Murray and the Seattle City Council call the plan a more compassionate approach than the mayor's initial plan to sweep the encampment known as "The Jungle."  The new plan, which is expected to be used to clean up all homeless camps in Seattle, includes providing trash bags and needle containers to campers, offering campers shelter and services from an established human services provider, and giving lawmakers notice before the mayor's office relocates a camper who refuses to leave.
