Inslee Helps Gather Signatures For Minimum-wage Measure

(Seattle, WA)  --  Governor Jay Inslee is in favor of a ballot measure that would raise Washington's state minimum wage to 13-dollars-50-cents an hour by the year 2020.  The governor hit Seattle's Westlake Park yesterday to help gather signatures to get Initiative 1433 on the November statewide ballot.  The measure would also guarantee paid sick leave for workers.  Supporters must get more than 246-thousand valid signatures of registered voters submitted to the Secretary of State's Office by early July to qualify the measure for the ballot.
